A cosy Christmas feast at Winter Wonderland’s Cedar & Spruce

Winter Wonderland can be a chaotic place, full of flashing lights, jolly Santas and countless food and ride stalls. With each Christmas wonder competing to be the most in-your-face, sometimes all you want is a quiet corner to curl up by the fire and soak up the atmosphere in peace. Ani Arora’s pop-up restaurant Cedar & Spruce delivers just that, alongside festive food and drinks.

Housed inside a trio of tipis, Cedar & Spruce is a much-needed haven of tranquillity nestled inside the chaos of London’s biggest Christmas festival. Inside you can warm up by one of the fire pits and enjoy the rustic decor and Christmas decorations. As you enter there’s a casual bar space where you can sip on a mulled wine or cider, alongside some festive nibbles like creamy cheese jalapenos or venison and fig samosas. The rest of the space is dedicated to the seasonal restaurant, serving up British favourites with a global twist.

We visited one sunny Wednesday afternoon and were treated to their three-course set menu, which comes in at £27.50. You can also choose a two-course menu for £23.50 or order as a-la-carte. We chose the smoked salmon with cream cheese and caviar as a starter, the turkey roulade as a main and the melting chocolate brownie as dessert. Each dish was beautifully presented and totally delicious, the perfect contemporary Christmas feast.

If you’re visiting Winter Wonderland and are looking for a nourishing and tasty meal, we’d highly recommend stopping past Cedar & Spruce. If you’re organised it’s best to book a table in advance, as the space can fill up quickly. When a sausage and saukraut costs £12, why not upgrade and treat yourself with an incredible feast from Cedar & Spruce.
