Adelaide’s very own Christmas wonderland launches

Christmas in July is the theme of the month with the grand opening of the magical pop up Alpine Winter Village, brought to you by the guys behind Alpine’s summer sister Royal Croquet Club. This wintery Christmas themed village is located at Torren’s Parade Ground in the heart of Adelaide city.

Alpine offers a fairy-lit escape from those winter chills

Adelaidians can expect pop-up style boutique cafés and bars, as well as live music, proving that Alpine Winter Village is the place to be this July! On offer are delicious winter-warmers such as Italian inspired hearty pasta and pizza as well as delectable French-style Nutella crepes! Not to mention the Village also holds a number of many small licensed bars inside the park, making it the ultimate destination place to grab a drink on the weekend.

Reminding us of Christmas in Germany… take us back!

Tucked away behind the Ski Lodge meeting place is the Village marketplace. Picture those goregous European-style Christmas markets that pop up every December, painting villages all over in Christmas colours and fairylights: this is essentially what Alpine’s marketplace alludes to. Owner of the popular Gillies Street Markets, Jennifer Centenera, has cleverly organised the whole Village marketplace offering various homewares, jewellery and clothing.

The ski lodge and funky marketplace

Alpine Winter Village has its very own ice-skating rink which is, of course, the main attraction and perfect for all ages (be sure to stay away if you’ve had one too many drinks!).

Ice skating is reserved for those who are still functional and mostly sober

There is no doubt that this space truly encapsulates the theme of an authentic European Christmas. It is a great outing for the whole family, with free entry and open every day and night for the whole month of July. How lucky are we, Adelaide?
