Atlantis Lounge and Cocktail Bar Launches … With Mermaids

No need to discover the consequences of waking up in Vegas because Atlantis Lounge Bar has taken up residency in Adelaide, taking over the old Garage Bar site on Waymouth Street.

‘We are bringing Vegas to Australia,’ says bar manager Mitchell Clarke. ‘We embody class, a point of difference and elegance.’

The team behind Atlantis is aiming to take Adelaide to the next level, hoping to bring in VIP clientele from all over.

Atlantis offer to take care of your entire night from a chauffer service to and from the venue in a Range Rover, to a private, comfortable booth and your own hostess for the evening.

“We are trying to step everything up with service done properly. We want people to have a really positive experience. We are more of a lounge than a nightclub. We don’t want the music to be cranking because we want our guests to be able to have a conversation,” says Clarke.

The Adelaidian, along with a number of other VIP guests were invited to the media launch last Thursday night to sample what Atlantis has to offer.

When we entered the venue, the first thing that caught my attention was the enormous 2.5 metre champagne tower next to the $450,000 Agate bar.

The entire room is bathed in blue light, which was achieved with over three kilometers of LED lights. The lavish club has paid attention to all the small details which includes gold toilet seats and Australia’s largest Agate bar, because why not?

Did someone say champagne showers?

With both indoor and outdoor booths, the constantly developing venue is looking to introduce food in the very near future. Claiming they ‘never want to be boring,’ the club has made headlines recently for the installation of a 25, 000 litre cylinder floor-to-ceiling infinity aquarium. On the opening night it featured beautiful mermaids and scuba divers to the delight of guests. An acrobat also gave us serious girl power envy on the night and she gracefully performed a series of stunts in silks.

Packages include bottle and table service from your private hostess and on the night we were served Moet, Dom Perignon and G.H.Mumm, which was delivered to our booth with sparklers.

You can find Atlantis Lounge Bar at 163 Waymouth Street, Adelaide.
