Bazinga! Geeks Getting Sexy At The Adelaide Fringe

Everyone has their kinks; some are just more common than others.

Nerdlesque Nights is a performance of worlds colliding, where some of the most iconic characters in pop culture are presented with the sexiness of burlesque.

Try to imagine Spongebob Squarepants greeting the stage with his unforgettable smile. You have all the comforts of your childhood rushing back to you—the familiarity of his massive yellow head invoking warm and happy thoughts.

But that warmth will soon be found elsewhere as the costume starts to disappear.

Those happy thoughts? Now in your pants.

This is indeed a burlesque show and our sexy female cast is here to get down and dirty. Each of their routines is different to the next, and as the night goes on they seem to get even naughtier.

Have you ever seen two girls dressed as Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy, only to have that obvious sexual tension reach a hilarious crescendo?

I hadn’t either.

You’ll certainly be reaching for your puffer after that one; either from being oddly aroused or laughing too hard.

Another standout was their raunchy take on Khaleesi, The Mother of Dragons from Game of Thrones. The dancer was gorgeous and her hips mesmerising—then the fire manipulation stole the show.

For Bazinga! Nerdlesque Nights, what you see is what you get. Quite simply, this is burlesque with a well-defined theme. If your inner geek doesn’t mind getting a bit frisky then this show is for you.

Just be warned, nothing here is sacred.
