Getting dirty with Bondi Scum

Bondi Scum algae salt scrub

If you follow us on socials, you’ve probably seen us raving about Bondi Scum already. If you haven’t you can check out our Reels below.

This delicious-smelling scrub is made using algae, which you’d be forgiven for originally thinking is a bit yuck. In actual fact though, algae is full of loads of skin-loving benefits, like vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. It also helps the skin to retain moisture and protects against UV rays.

Bondi Scum isn’t just another trendy beauty product you see floating around on Instagram. We originally found a packet of this scrub floating around in the bathroom at Bondi Bazaar, a local fortnightly market that Bondi Scum had a stall at. After trying some by scrubbing our hands with it in the sink, we were absolutely blown away by how soft and smooth our hands felt, as well as by the delicious scent. We made a beeline straight to their stand and stocked up on a couple of packets for our showers.

As well as using algae, you can also find Himalayan pink salt, sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, macadamia oil, coconut oil, apricot oil and vitamin E. Talk about jam-packed full of goodies.

The algae used in Bondi Scum is ethically sourced and is ‘borrowed’ from the ocean – essentially being returned back by being washed down your shower drain. Good for your skin and good for the planet? We love.

Our favourite Bondi Scum flavour is the Strawberry & Vanilla, however Coconut & Lime is also super yummy and Peppermint leaves your skin feeling minty fresh. Another fave product of ours is the Bondi Scum Beeswax Lip Balm, made using shea butter, vitamin E, coconut oil, peppermint and beeswax, and leaves your lips super plump for hours after use.

If you’re keen to get your hands on some Bondi Scum, you can visit their website or find them floating around local Sydney markets, where you can try before you buy (and even pick up some sneaky samples!).
