Celebrating 100 Years of Fine Chocolate with Haigh’s

As of today, three iconic Adelaide businesses, Haigh’s Chocolates, Yalumba Winery and Coopers Alehouse, officially unveiled their ultimate collaborative project. Adelaide, say hello to a fine selection of three, luxurious new chocolates, collectively known as ‘The Collaboration‘.

Adelaide’s oldest family-owned winery, brewery and chocolate-maker have come together to launch this deluxe, handmade box of chocolates as a way of celebrating quite a significant shared milestone: their 100 year anniversary.

“The three chocolates were developed over a twelve month time period with our product development team working in close collaboration with key people from Coopers and Yalumba,” describes Haigh’s Chocolates Head Executive Officer, Alister Haigh.

“With one of the final chocolates also featuring figs from Adelaide Hills producer, Willabrand, and the box being made in Woodville North at Box Biz, it is a true South Australian product!”

Now let us tell you a bit about the delicious chocolates themselves…

Coopers Stout Ganache

This is a rich dark chocolate made with a Coopers Stout flavoured ganache centre. The top layer of the centre is smooth malt frappe completed with the final coating of premium dark chocolate and decorate with bronzed pearls.

Yalumba Antique Tawny Fig Liquer

South Australian-grown dried figs are soaked in Yalumba’s Antique Tawny Port for two weeks and then dipped into Antique Tawny infused fondant. The fruit is then covered in two layers of milk chocolate and hand-decorated to perfection. Stored carefully in a cellar prior to release, the Tawny Fig chocolate comes out with a rich alcoholic sweetness, evoking incredible honey tones on the palate.

Haigh’s 70% Dark Truffle

Featuring a unique blend of chocolate made with South American, Pacific and African cocoa beans, this richly flavoured chocolate truffle is definitely something else. The centre is hand rolled in layers of 70% Dark Chocolate and is topped off with decorative golden flecks.
