Celebrating International Women’s Day

This morning, we had the pleasure of celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) with some of Melbourne’s most influential female figures in business and media at the Australian Women’s Network breakfast.

Held at the ever so picturesque Mon Bijou penthouse, VIP guests were offered an abundance of delicious breakfast canapes and endless aperol spritz to start the morning right (not to mention loads of coffee for an early start!).

The campaign theme for IWD 2016 is #PledgeForParity, seeking equality through aiming to help women achieve their ambitions, attain leadership roles, eliminate workplace bias and more.

Everyone can take part – men and women alike. With both genders joining forces, we can effectively help women advance and realise the limitless potential they can offer economies around the world.

Speaking with all of the amazing women in the room, it was astounding to see the variety in skill and talent our female population has to offer.

Jo Blankfield of Fashions About You is just one of the many we spoke with – a passionate stylist who has worked with women across Australia for the past 14 years. It was when we got on the topic of Adelaide Fringe that we discovered Jo also performs circus and came to Adelaide last year for a show! Can someone say multi-talent?

Steph Gold was another inspirational figure we met at the breakfast who currently works in the competitive, male-dominated field of sports. Running her own PR company, Steph Gold PR, Steph has supported the likes of Australian Open and the Victoria Racing Club; we can’t wait to see what the company does next.

Happy International Women’s Day everyone!
