Couture+Love+Madness at Qingdao International Fashion Festival

Cristina Tridente, designer behind Couture+Love+Madness, is taking big steps for the Australian fashion community. The local Adelaidian label was asked to open the 2015 Qingdao International Fashion Festival in China, and was the first Australian designer to ever showcase at this international event.

Couture+Love+Madness showcased two collections at the Qingdao International Fashion Festival, the AW15 collection ‘Silk Road’ which featured shining shades of deep blue and pink, as well as the SS14 collection ‘The Bold and the Beautiful, which also featured bold colour mixed with floral patterns in silks and Australian wools. Two twin international models Xiaoting and Xioqian Wang closed the show wearing Australian wool pieces, which saw much excitement in the audience.

Cristina Tridente has been overwhelmed by the positive feedback, and says,

‘It was such an exciting opportunity to showcase amongst so many talented Chinese designers, the calibre of fashion and design in China is astounding. The reviews from both shows have been overwhelmingly positive and I look forward to continuing my relationship with Qingdao and showing at next year’s fashion festival.’

Cristina is one of the few Adelaide designers focusing her talents on couture, and her specialties lie with exotic silks, hand beading, sequins and appliqué. The heavy use of detailing and rich fabrics has made her designs stand out from others at Australian fashion shows, and it’s no surprise Couture+Love+Madness has transferred well to the Chinese runway.
