Dine like a King at Royal Stacks

New burger joints are popping up everywhere but Royal Stacks in Melbourne stands out from the rest by being too damn good. When dining at Royal Stacks, it’s best to forgo any idea of healthy food and just go all-in. From dripping, juicy burgers to cheesy tater tots, every item on this menu will hit the spot on any junk food craving imaginable.

All the burgers have royally regal names, like Prince Harry (beef patty, butter lettuce, American cheddar, Swisse cheese, horseradish with shallot and gherkin mayo) or Queen Bee (handmade chickpea patty, tomato, butter lettuce, American cheddar, special burger sauce and pickles) with the exception of the signature Single Stack (beef patty, tomato, butter lettuce, American cheddar, special burger sauce and pickles) and the Double Stack (the same as a Single Stack, with double patties). All the beef patties are freshly minced daily and made from pasture-fed, GMO-free Australian beef with no added hormones or antibiotics, and the soft and sweet bread buns are also made fresh instore every day! The real hands-on approach you get at Royal Stacks honestly does make a difference, with the beef patty being flavoursome and tender and the reassurance that what you’re eating hasn’t been processed unethically.

The King

The King (drools)

Though we wish we could have tried all eight burgers on the menu (we’ll be back to try the rest soon!) we could only physically fit in one each, as well as devouring a little pot of cheesy tater tots. We decided on The King (beef patty, tomato, butter lettuce, mac and cheese croquette, American mustard and special burger sauce) which was absolutely SENSATIONAL. Whoever thought of putting mac and cheese inside a burger is a genius and should be internationally recognised. The special burger sauce is almost like Royal Stacks’ version of Big Mac Sauce, so creamy and tangy, and the perfect amount was used so as not to soak the bun but still spread some flavour throughout every bite.

We also ate our way through a Miss Elizabeth (beef patty, Swisse cheese and truffle mayo) with added lettuce, which was a simple but tasty burger as the bite of the Swisse cheese and creaminess of the truffle mayo made it quite rich.

Single Stack

Single Stack

Royal Stacks signature burger Single Stack was the final choice we ordered. The Single Stack is Royal Stacks answer to the tried-and-true classic cheeseburger, and it definitely holds up to the expectations one may have. There’s something about the way a juicy beef patty goes so well with melting cheese, a few sour pickles and some fresh tomato and lettuce covered in a secret burger sauce that makes us think heaven really is a place on earth.

Takeaway Wine!!!!

Royal Stacks is also leading the way in serious takeaway offers, with takeaway wine in little single-serve cups available for purchase with your burger when you’re on-the-go. Other beverages available for purchase are bottomless soda cups and icy-cold milkshakes.

We’ll definitely be back to try the Frozen Custards and Concrete Mixers! Frozen custard is Royal Stack’s house-made ice-cream, available in flavours like Oreo, butterscotch and peanut butter, and concrete mixers are the next option where diners chose a frozen custard base and then add mixers like Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, M&Ms and Tim Tams.

Royal Stacks currently has diners on Collins Street, CBD and Sydney Street, Brunswick so be sure to pop in and indulge yourself in some serious burger heaven!
