I don’t mean to cause panic, but designer Dion Lee’s collaboration with Target Australia has hit stores TODAY. Breathe ladies, breathe.
Dion Lee for Target is an addition to the department store’s ‘Designers for Target’ program, which has previously showcased collections by Missoni, Dannii Minogue, Roberto Cavalli and Stella McCartney. Just think of Target as the average-earning Australian woman’s gateway to designer luxury – Target itself states that the collection ‘makes high-end fashion affordable and more accessible to everyone’.

Dion Lee’s capsule Target collection is made up of 36 pieces ranging from day to night looks, lounge wear, performance wear and accessories, aimed to ‘create the ultimate modern wardrobe’. The collection incorporates the luxurious tailoring, eclectic graphic prints and combination of textures Dion Lee is known for. It is minimalist and modern yet unique, featuring a mainly monochromatic colour scheme with the exception of bright pops of cobalt. Neoprene remains on the fashion scene with both shoes and bags available in the sleek fabric. Chunky zips and ombre colour effects are also a main feature of the collection. There really is something for everyone, with sizing going from 6-16 and prices ranging from the $25 mark to a little over $100.

The collection really does merge the luxury and high fashion appeal of Dion Lee with the practicality of Target. Even the designer himself agrees.
“It’s exciting to see my designs styled in a new, imaginative way. The designs are a balance between aesthetics and function… and reflect the wardrobe of the contemporary Australian woman at work or relaxing,” he said.
“Designing performance wear was a new experience and I was inspired to create modern women’s active wear for everyday living.”
