Winter is coming, Adelaide. If you’ve been spending your spring and summer exploring our state’s incredible wine regions, you may be feeling a little bit devastated that the cold weather has kicked in. However, most wineries have crackling fire pits, full-bodied red wines, and seasonal dishes to warm you up, so there is absolutely nothing to stop you heading out to the vineyards during winter. In fact, this July you can head to the Winter Reds Weekend in the Adelaide Hills to celebrate the wonderful red wines of the region. One of the hardest parts about signing on for a winter wine tour is what to wear – but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
The summer go-to outfit for a winery is a flowing, floral-print midi dress, sturdy block heels, and a great hat. Sadly, this doesn’t really work for when the cooler weather hits. Yet there are so many ways to re-work your summer pieces for winter. Winter wineries don’t have to mean the standard uniform of jeans, a coat, and boots. Try playing with layers this winter, by donning your silk slip or boho midi dress from summer over a tight turtleneck. This look is so easy to execute, it can be whipped up from the pieces that you already own.
