Enjoy a boozy weekend at Adelaide Beer and BBQ Fest

Adelaide Beer and BBQ Festival

South Australia’s biggest beer and BBQ party is taking over the weekend with an extensive range of national and international exhibitors ready to showcase the very best of what they have to offer!

From Saturday July the 8th to Sunday the 10th, the Adelaide Beer and BBQ Festival will be hosting a big fat fiesta down in the historic brick cattle pavilion and lawns at the Adelaide Showgrounds.

Friday will see the knockoff session commence at 5pm until late, including the Royal Adelaide Beer and Cider Awards presentation, main stage bands and DJs ’til close. Sorry under-agers, this event is strictly 18 and over!

The beer geek session starts an early 11am through to 5pm on Saturday and features an array of information sessions (of the fun, boozy kind), brewer Q&A, BBQ cooking demonstrations and more.

That same day, another 18+ event will take place 6pm ’til late, offering the best of live bands on the main stage and DJs in the beer hall. Granted, things may get a little blurry, but as long as you vaguely remember you had a fun time, surely the rest doesn’t really matter… right?

Panama and Oisima are due to be playing at the Adelaide Beer and BBQ Fest this weekend.

Party bands and jams continue to the Sunday, so why not pop in the next day for a hangover beer (or two, three… maybe four). Fortunately for your hungover selves, dressing nicely will not be a necessity for this day. In fact, dressing terribly is encouraged with the ‘wear-sneans-get-a-free-beer’ policy, so make sure you’re looking snean-tastic! Confused? Search it up on Urban Dictionary.

We are also pleased to announce that two good friends of ours, Dougal McFuzzlebutt of McFuzzlebutt’s Manchen and Caitlin Harvey of Feast on Foot, will be joining forces to bring you ‘Up in Smoke’ on Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th.

‘Up in Smoke’ is going to be a mouthwatering, slow American style barbecuing competition and will feature four categories of meat including beef, pork, pork ribs and lamb. There is no denying the food will be grand seeing as 22 teams from all over Australia are due to be competing for the winning spot.

“I have eight different charcoal cooking contraptions in my Man Kitchen and have been barbecuing for many years, so it took me a matter of seconds to agree to create and manage this competition with Caitlin,” says Dougal, “We have such an incredible food culture and love of BBQ in South Australia; I knew we were onto a winner”.
