ESK Skincare Launch their Hydroxy Overnight Mask

Just the other week, ESK Skincare launched a brand new product, the Hydroxy Overnight Mask. Said to have medicinal properties, this mask can be used to manage acne, premature aging, and transepidermal water loss.

We’ll admit, we were a little put off when we heard one of the product’s ingredients is found in the urine of mammals. Crazy, right? We know it sounds whack, but there’s a perfectly normal, scientific reason behind this.

The ingredient – known as Urea – is a protein by-product that actually happens to play a role in the preservation of skin hydration and integrity. It attracts and binds to water molecules, keeping in hydration and resisting wrinkling. Boom – science, b*tch.

We’ve used the Hydroxy Overnight Mask a couple of times already as directed on the package. Using it 1-2 times a week, we pop it on in place of our usual skincare routine and sleep in it. The cream is a soft, velvety texture and applies very smoothly to the skin. There’s no particular smell, so it’s perfect to fall asleep in with no distraction.

The mask acts overnight as the 5% Salicylic Acid works to exfoliate the skin. Meanwhile, the 10% Urea moisturises and softens the skin, so it’s a nice balancing effect.

What’s also cool is that while the cream is a mask, it can also be used as a spot treatment for pimples when they arise. The Hydroxy Overnight Mask’s multi-use ability makes it a versatile addition to your skincare routine. Who doesn’t love a little versatility in their life?

If you’ve not heard of ESK Skincare before, their message is simple. Evidence-based skincare. This Australian-based company works with dermatologists and scientists to create a range backed up by research and scientific evidence. We don’t know about you, but that’s exactly what we look for when buying skincare. Forget the luxurious scents or pretty packaging, we want results! Hop on to their website to read more.
