Fashion at Fumo’s 2017: Time to Widen the Wardrobe

Fashion at Fumo’s was a spectacle of local talent hosted at Fumo Blu, one of Adelaide’s beloved underground cocktail lounges. The ambience of the dimly lit, marine inspired room in collaboration with Fumo’s resident DJ created the relaxin atmosphere we long for after a big week of work and commitments.

Offering Coonawarra’s Majella Wines (a new personal favourite) from behind the bar, the lounge hosted an exclusive runway to provide a peek into the collections of Onio Boutique, Marvin and Medusa, 808 Threads, and Lule Co Boutique. If you haven’t heard of these names before, you might want to pencil them in your diary when planning your next outfit.

Each store was built upon their own bona fide aspirations. Inevitably, this means there’s a huge range to choose from, helping you master your simple street style, feminine formal wear, and fluttery beach attire. A girl needs her options (I can go from Victoria Beckham to Fresh Prince of Belair in a matter of days). If you’re unsure where to start, here’s a little profiling to represent what these brands are about:

Marvin and Medusa

Clothing type: Swimwear.
Celeb style: Bella Hadid would definitely rock these!
About: Marvin and Medusa came to life when two Adelaide babes made their way across the Greek Islands. They combined their love for fashion, bikinis and the beach to bring Adelaide Marvin and Medusa, a collation of incredible bathers sourced from different locations around the globe. Their aim is to make a beach bum out of all Adelaidians, bringing out carefree confidence through their flattering and quality pieces.

808 Threads

Clothing type: Formal wear.
Celeb Style: J-Lo or Ashley Graham all the way.
About: 808 Threads is the first hiring service in SA to cater specifically for women sized 12-20. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful on a night out, and this business is ALL about encouraging women to feel fabulous in an attempt to bridge the gap in the clothing hire industry. The range consists of some incredible brands, and with such an admirable incentive, we know you’ll be looked after with these guys!

Lule Co Boutique

Clothing type: Day/Occasion wear.
Celeb Style: Vanessa Hudgens, she always looks festival ready.
About: Lule Co Boutique is home to an array of floral prints, dainty frills, and polka dots. What more could you ask for in the midst of this year’s spring style? These pieces would be perfect for day time events, but could easily be taken for a night out with the addition of heels and a bold lip! Say goodbye to frantic car changing in between stops.

Onio Boutique

Clothing type: Night/occasion wear.
Celeb Style: Kendall Jenner, what an icon!
About: Onio Boutique brings you pieces from all of your favourite Adelaide designers, such as Ebby and I, and Bagira the Label. The range in store is nothing short of substantial; I couldn’t look past the goddess-like two-piece ‘Heart of Gold’ set from Alter Ego the Label! There’s also plenty of opportunity for layering different bits and pieces if you like to play around with style. Onio Boutique also stock gorgeous trinkets and accessories to go with your desired look! We’re talking chic sunglasses from You and Eye and staple tassel purses from Tassel Me.
