Getting Woolly at Westfield this winter

We were all eyes and ears on Wednesday night as we welcomed Adelaide’s vogue at Westfield Marion’s Wool Week celebrations, running from the 13th until the 21st of May.

Wool Week was all about statement two pieces this year, showcasing gorgeous monochrome components made with intricate features from quality wool. The bold designs proved that lavish style and ultimate warmth can, in fact, be used in correlation. The Westfield crew also showcased an amazing all black ensemble, for those of us who struggle to add a little colour to our closet. The timely city chic look reminded us all that black… is the new black.

But of course, all eyes were on guest speaker Samantha Harris, top model and Australian fashion icon who was fresh off the plane after walking the runway at Sydney’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia. She spoke of her casual approach to style off the runway. Sam said the classic bomber jacket and a big wool knit will be amongst her wardrobe staples this winter, but like the rest of us, you’ll find her in gym clothes and PJ’s behind the scenes (that’s why we love her). Her down to earth vibe had everyone listening, and our eyes gazing as she rocked one of Cameo Collective’s gorgeous pieces, styled by the Westfield crew.

The incredible event setting featured wild bush florals, a picturesque catering spread from food gods Out in the Paddock and a rustic-themed interior which was the perfect homely touch. However, it was the adorable addition of little sheep sculptures that made the setting complete!

Of course, the night wouldn’t have been complete without the well-known Steve the Bartender, who whipped up vivacious looking cocktails (shaken, not stirred) for guests to indulge. What better addition to a lively atmosphere?

Thank you Westfield Marion for the styling tips; it’s safe to say that we’ll be adding a few wool additions to our wardrobes this year!
