Sean’s Kitchen opened up in October 2014 and has had nothing less than a remarkable year. The stylish venue has served over 50,000 diners, and seen everything from large party celebrations, to serving over a dozen of VIP’s such as Drake, David Warner and Jessica Mauboy.
If that weren’t enough of an accomplish, Sean’s Kitchen has been a finalist in the Internationally Acclaimed Restaurant and Bar Design Awards, and they even won Best New Restaurant at the 2015 Adelaide City Awards. The restaurant attributes some of its success to location, as it is surrounded by traffic-heavy hotspots like the Adelaide Casino and the Festival Centre. Even more important has been the honest and encouraging feedback from the restaurant’s guests; changes are constantly being implemented so that the expectations are more than just met — they are blown out of the park.
Chef Sean Connolly (not to be confused with Sean Connery — although we should see if Connolly would be interested in starring in the next Bond film) has said that it was a lot of fun decorating the restaurant and training the staff. What he enjoyed most, however, was forming a bond with local South Australian producers.
To celebrate the 12 months of trading, Sean will be cutting the birthday cake on Tuesday 20th October (tomorrow), and following up with the release of a new Summer menu on the following day, Wednesday October 21st. Sean has been working alongside the SK culinary team to create this menu, and is excited for all the future has to offer.
If you have the time, I would certainly recommend you check out Sean’s Kitchen. The venue is open from 11am through Monday to Friday, and open from 8am on Saturday and Sunday. Be sure to give your compliments to the chef and ask whether or not he’s given consideration to that next Bond film!
