Her Bride His Groom is an online resource and directory for same sex couples wanting to plan their special day. The company was founded by Sam Meathrel after he realised the absence of such a service and discovered same sex couples who had been turned away by suppliers. The site helps same sex couples to plan their special day by providing them with a large database of suppliers who are happy and supportive of their special day, and of love in whichever form it comes in.

“I’ve always loved weddings,” says Sam, explaining his inspiration behind the website. “I’ve worked in the events industry for over seven years … I’ve done it all so I think it is a natural progression for me”.

From celebrants to caterers, photographers, entertainment and videographers, Her Bride His Groom has all bases covered.

The website launched last week in front of Adelaide’s media and social crowd along with representatives from the suppliers. Four models, two brides and two grooms made their way around the party, which was held in the stunning Freemasons Hall. The two brides in white were dressed in local custom bridal and eveningwear label, Taylor Marie Designs.

Together with Sam, and after a quick interview with the Sunday Mail’s Matt Gilbertson, they cut a gorgeous white cake from Heidelberg Cakes. We also sampled delicious cupcakes from the local company during the night.

“Our aim is to take any stress and angst out of the planning process,” Sam explains. “It’s a shame we do hear about them [the stories of couples being turned away] but that’s is why we are here … to help”.
