Let’s be honest, we all think it but sometimes never say it. Taking time out for yourself during your busy day is so important, whether it be relaxing, having a cup of tea, reading a book or I don’t know … shopping?
Rundle Place has an assortment of new season trends which were showcased at an exclusive event on level one amongst a colourful spring garden setting by Atmosphere Events. Each long table was decked out with leafy greenery for days, making us feel like we were well and truly in spring, despite the foul weather outside. At the end of the night, those remaining were invited to take home the greenery table settings as a keepsake. Mine currently looks wonderful and lively on the dining table but my cat thinks its a jungle gym.

Guests of the exclusive event were invited to indulge in a decadent three-course meal by chef and personality Poh Ling Yeow of Jamface as they sipped on G.H. Mumm Champagne.
Poh explained she wanted to give it a spring influence and include lots of floral aspects and spices into the dishes.
The first course was a tuna carpaccio on a bed of pink lady apple, with an orange and ginger dressing. Next came a room temperature beef rendang wrapped in sticky turmeric rice, a pandan laced coconut pancake and cucumber relish. Dessert was a soft, marshmallow pavlova with strawberries, a caramel balsamic and herbs.

Hosted by Rundle Place stylist Sina Lauren, the night featured a runway show with key looks from each of the Rundle Place retailers. The show was styled by Adelaide Fashion Insider Mirella Romano and Cimon Vozzo of Cimon Styling and Times Two Blog.
Featuring looks from London designer Ted Baker to the mid price range Trenery and the affordable Harris Scarfe, the upcoming SS17 season has plenty of variety.
Rundle Place spring/summer ’17 looks
One key trend this season was referred to by Marie Claire Fashion Editor and guest host Bree McDonald as the, ‘The New Nautical”. Inspired by jolly sailors, the looks drifted away from the classic red, blue and white colours and focused more on navy pieces with high waisted shorts and pants with gold buttons standing out. To get the look, try browsing Kookai and Country Road.
Neutral tones such as khakis and camels came in a range of outfits with matching sets and long line vests featuring often. Matching sets are so versatile because they can be worn together or pair with another item to completely change the look.

Jumpsuits, off the shoulder tops and culottes were also showed in various neutral tones and colours. Serafina Boutique showed a range of floaty kaftans and every model wore a head scarf and a simple black one piece bathing suit which gave off a fierce, tribal queen vibe.
Each lovely lady from Finesse Models Australia had their hair slicked back into a low pony or braid with dangling and elegant gold earrings featuring in most looks.

The Spring Racing season is upon us and many models flaunted elegant dresses and glamorous black 1940’s bonnet style fedora hats with black ribbon tied beneath the chin. This dark, victorian, colonial vintage feel is a cool alternative to the traditional and almost tired millinery; it looks so chic.
Menswear from Oxford featured coloured suits and beautiful tailored jackets, with a particular light, sky blue outfit standing out.
The evening was concluded with a short Q&A with Bree McDonald and we learnt about everything from this season’s cult shoe to alternative race wear.
