Mixing metals with Stack Exchange Jewellery

When it comes to jewellery, we tend to pair gold with gold and silver with silver. More often than not, you’ll either be a silver person, or a gold person. But what if… just what if… we actually mixed the two together? Well, it’s 2020 guys – it’s time to break tradition and try something new. Where better to start with brand new Aussie jewellery label Stack Exchange?

Stack Exchange is a contemporary, Australian-born brand coming in hot on the mixed metals trend. Their range is ever so contemporary, complete with chunky, statement designs that can be layered to perfection. Think high shine chains and luxurious hoops. We’re seriously obsessed.

Although the designs are hot on-trend right now, they are also simple designs that will stand the test of time. If there’s one thing we know for sure, you can never go wrong with a chain necklace or a pair of hoop earrings. Those styles are timeless.

Stack Exchange is actually the sister brand to a label we already know and love, Ruby Watkins. Run by the young and determined Ruby Watkins herself, there’s no denying the two brands have quite the youthful, fashion-forward vibe to them. We simply love everything Ruby creates.

Having been gifted a few items, we decided to style the pieces against mostly black outfits for a photoshoot over the weekend. Mel styled her Cisco Hoops (Medium) and Foreign Chain with an off-shoulder top and mini skirt. The hoops are awesome because, although they look like they might be a little heavy, they’re actually hollowed out and are very lightweight. When it comes to the bold Foreign Chain, well, silver and gold never looked so damn good together.

Kristen chose the Titus Hoop (mini) and the Assets Chain, both of which carry the mixed metals theme. The small, chunky hoops are split even in gold and silver, adding some edge to an otherwise classic style. The chain features one gold chain, one silver chain, and styles perfectly over a high-neck black top or turtleneck.

The pieces come at a mid-point price range and are plated 18k gold or rhodium, with a brass base for strength. They are of excellent quality and super shiny, we can imagine these pieces will last us a long time! Head to their website to shop and find out more about this amazing new brand.
