Vlog: Making a mulled gin punch winter warmer

How do you make mulled wine even better? Just add gin, which is exactly what we did with That Boutique-y Gin Company‘s Cobnut Ghost Gin. Taking inspiration from a recipe from Craft Gin Club (who took inspiration from Bob Cratchit’s mix in Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol) it uses a simple mixture of ingredients guaranteed to warm your mind, body and soul.

Mixing together about 500mL of port, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, the peel and juice of one lemon and one orange, half a diced pineapple (without the core and skin), 3 whole cloves, 3 cinnamon sticks and a pinch of nutmeg we had our mulled wine base.

After simmering on the stove for half an hour we removed everything we weren’t going to drink that evening and placed it in a jug, putting it in the fridge to reheat later in the week.

Leaving just enough for two glasses, we added two drams of TBGC’s Cobnut Ghost Gin into the pot and mixed it all together.

Serve it up and you’re all ready to go!
