National Wine Centre’s Wine Dinner Series

As winter comes to a close and we see rays of spring emerging, it is time to reacquaint yourself with great food and great wine as the National Wine Centre of Australia holds its annual Wine Dinners from July to September.

The aim of the game is to have an open pallet and test food against wine to explore a myriad of flavours. The Wine Centre holds the dinners each year and selects some of the finest and most unique wine and food throughout South Australia. This year the event will be held the Hackney Road venue.

Prepared by Executive Chef Tze Khaw, each dinner will feature four courses, each sharing the theme from that particular night. Khaw will have his work cut out or him as he attempts to create some fantastic dishes from meats we wouldn’t necessarily expect to eat.

“For all of our dinners we partner with local producers, including Ashton Hill orchard, AMJ Produce for all of our niche vegetables and fruits, and Adelaide Hill’s smallgoods,” says the talented chef.

The first dinner, held on Friday July 31st, will jumpstart your taste buds with a selection of Kangaroo and Alpaca meats from Fleurieu Prime Alpaca and Macro Meats. The meal will match with wines from McLaren Vale’s d’Arenberg Wines.

August 12 will showcase food from Boston Bay Pig Farms, paired with tipples from Charles Melton Wines.

Finally, South Australia’s famous seafood will usher in the spring months on September 11th’s dinner. Adelaide Hills Sparkling Wine and Seafood will be providing a veritable array of oceanic delights, while The Lane Vineyard, Kersbrook Hill Wines and the Deviation Road will be providing the wine.

The event is fast approaching, so grab your tickets as soon as you can.
