New Nordic can put on a spread

In light of their recent opening alongside the new Palace Nova cinema complex, New Nordic celebrates their innovative take on the business by showcasing some of their best brekky dishes.

The venue is gorgeously modern and simple, making the relatively small space feel much bigger. The minimalist style of the furniture and bar set-up pays homage to the Scandinavian influences, with plenty of greenery perching on shelves and tables. That natural morning light makes this place shine.

The all-day restaurant blends their simple Scandinavian inspirations with the pure and fresh produce of South Australia. In between coffee and catch-ups we loaded our forks with sizzling food from the enormous platters that were spread out between us.

On offer we had the Scandi Big Breakfast: a plate fit for two piled with smoked vienna sausage, fried potato, beetroot salad, eggs, bacon, mushroom, meatballs, onion and sourdough. Between four of us we could barely finish it, and there were still more flavours to try.

Across the table we also had a range of vegetarian options, with plenty of grilled tomato, avocado and haloumi to go round. The crowd favourite would have to be the Vanilla Rice Pudding – topped with cherry compote, glõgg syrup and crumbled gingerbread, it’s perfect for your sweet breakfast craving.

The breakfast menu is a great one for all the brunch-enthusiasts out there – and let’s face it, there’s not many of us who aren’t. We’ll be back soon to test out what they have on offer for dinner, and we’re definitely excited to try the cocktail menu (and we mean all of it).

Happy brunching!
