On the hunt for a Red Ball dress? We’ve got you covered

In life, there aren’t too many opportunities to wear an outrageous red ballgown. When an opportunity presents itself, you’ve just got to grab it by its fabulous horns and start shopping for the perfect rosy look.

With Fight Cancer Foundation’s Red Ball Adelaide coming up on May the 20th, that gives you less than a month to find a dress. To give you some Red Ball style inspo, we’ve come to the rescue and have picked out some of our favourite red dresses and outfits, each of which can be found around Adelaide from local designers and boutiques.

After Dark Boutique

These fun two-pieces from After Dark Boutique offer a modern twist on the classic floor-length gown. The La Femme ‘Two-Piece Halter’ has cross-back detailing on the top and is covered in a sparkling lace overlay. Mel’s Jadore two-piece has the most fun, flared skirt to swirl around in and is made of a super flattering material that sits just right.

Couture + Love + Madness

Couture + Love + Madness designed a collection in 2016 called ‘Lady Camellia‘, full of beautiful red dresses that can each be perfectly made and customised to your body shape. If you had a specific design in mind though, you can use the dresses from Lady Camellia to inspire you, and make a booking to design your very own dress with designer Cristina Tridenti. Here Kristen wears the structured and sparkling ‘Oriental Brocade Gown’ from the AW15 ‘Silk Road’ collection and Mel wears the classic and classy ’50s Lace Full Circle Gown’ dress, super flattering for girls of almost every figure.

More from Couture + Love + Madness: For those girls wanting to stay away from the traditional gown, a fun two-piece with pants or a cute playsuit will help you stand out from the crowd. Here Kristen wears the ‘Asymmetrical Lace Playsuit’, designed to look like a mini dress at the front but hiding little shorts at the back! Loads of detail has gone into this piece too, with a sparkly lace overlay and tiny little red roses sewn onto the playsuit. Mel wears the ‘Crepe Palazzo Pants’ and the ‘Crepe Crop Top’, made from really soft crepe material that falls flatteringly on the figure, creating a modern and elegant look.

Something Borrowed Boutique

If you’d prefer to hire an outfit rather than purchase one, Something Borrowed has a range of short and long red dresses. Kristen wears the dramatic strapless George ‘Lola Gown’, with off-shoulder strap detailing. Mel wears Portia & Scarlett‘s voluptuous ‘Alliyah Strapless Red Gown’ which hugs her curves perfectly and finishes in a gorgeous fishtail.

Got some super sexy legs you want to show off? The Grace & Hart ‘Queen Bee Midi’ will do just that. An elegant, lace dress with wide sleeves and lace back detailing, this little dress manages to be both cute and formal. The high-necked Something Beyond Audrey dress embodies all that is class with a touch of sexy; a high leg split offsets the high neck so that you can show just a little bit of extra skin.
