Once Was launches Pierrot Collection

Melbourne-based label Once Was launched their Resort 16 collection, ‘Pierrot’, to an intimate crowd at their Hawksburn store with a delicious brunch.

The collection included a range of pieces suitable for day to evening wear, from sheer lace overlay dresses, to flowing cotton broderie culottes, to playful denim tops.

Loose, summery cuts were predominant through the collection, and key pieces like off-the-shoulder tops and front-split pants are sure to become staples in any buyer’s wardrobe.

The breathy fabrics and flattering cuts from the Pierrot collection were perfectly suited to the Land Rover Polo in the City event, so we each picked a favourite outfit from the lookbook to wear.

Kristen wore the ‘Vargo Cotton Broderie’ off shoulder top and culottes in ink together, which made a cute two-piece that almost looked like a bouffant dress. Kristen loved the subtle sleeve detailing that tapered in at the cuff, but then flared out again to create a unique sleeve shape.

Mel wore the ‘Migration Maxi Shirt Dress’, a flowing maxi that had front and side splits, allowing for loads of movement. Though the fabric was dark, the broderie detailing kept Mel cool, as did the dramatic side splits.

Once Was has created a gorgeous resort collection perfect for lounging by the beach or picnicking in the park all day long, looking stylish but feeling comfortable. To view the complete Pierrot lookbook, click here.
