Paradise Hotel Unveils New Look After $3 Million Renovation

Local watering hole, Paradise Hotel, has relaunched after a $3 million renovation. The facelift was designed to create a more family-focused venue, and even includes two new mini theatres for the kids.

The hotel was closed for three months while the makeover was underway, but the sun-soaked space is now open for everyone. At Wednesday’s VIP launch we were given a glimpse of the new menu and cocktail list, and spent some time in the new dining area.

The Paradise now boasts a light-filled space to sit and socialize, eat dinner, and have a drink (or two!). The area is adorned with natural materials like stone and wood, as well as a sprinkling of lush pot plants. The end result lends an island holiday vibe to this eastern suburb treasure.

“We’ve placed an emphasis on a family pub that’s in line with the community and the people around it,” the Director of GM Hotels, Greg Maitland, said of the design. GM Hotels manages a number of other South Australian venues, including Tower Hotel and St. Francis Winery. The community atmosphere of the new Paradise Hotel is definitely echoed by the open and inviting design of the new area.

The standout feature of the new space is the array of large timber windows that line the front wall, letting natural light flood the area. The sunshine and leafy foliage offer an air of paradise to the new Paradise Hotel.

The cocktail list includes everything from a zesty Passionfruit Mojito to a frothy Toblerone cocktail. We also sampled the mushroom arancini with tomato sugo, haloumi fries with lemon, mini cheeseburgers with Cape Byron Prime Beef, and delicious panko calamari. Your tastebuds will thank you.

The newly revamped Paradise Hotel is the perfect space to relax on a balmy summer afternoon with friends. But, the wood fire means that the space can be adapted well for the cooler months.

“This entire area is also covered from the weather too, so it’s a great function space. You won’t have to worry about last-minute rain coverage!” Explained Venue Manager Adrian Prosser at the VIP launch.

So, after three months and three million dollars, the folks behind the Paradise Hotel have pulled through and curated a bloody good spot for an afternoon drink. Cheers.
