Photo Diary: Religion Clothing Summer Trans ’19

We are well and truly into summer now, but at the start of the season we stocked up our wardrobes with some new gifted pieces from Religion, one of our fave London brands. Their summer collection uses the same high-quality fabrics as their previous collections, updating some of their classic styles with new patterns and also introducing new styles perfect for the warmer months.

The first piece we both chose as it instantly stood out to us as an amazingly versatile addition to our wardrobes. The ‘Wandering L/S Top Jet Black’ is an off-the-shoulder style that features a drawstring detail at the front, allowing you to wear it pulled down or ruched up to create a cute crop top. The fitted design makes it perfect for tucking into high-waisted skirts and trousers as well, while the plain black colourway means it can easily be dressed up or down. We’ve worn this top so much over the summer, from teaming it with wide-leg trousers at a festival to styling it with a pencil skirt and heels at a cocktail event. If your wardrobe is missing a stylish plain top you can mix and match with almost anything, the Wandering top will perfectly fill that gap.

As her second piece, Kristen went for the ‘Arrow Trousers Mustang Print’. The statement pattern makes them the feature piece of any look, and she loves teaming them with the Wandering top for a great day-to-night outfit. The fabric is really light and flows beautifully, while the waist has a hidden elastic panel at the back so they’re incredibly comfortable to wear. Finished off with pockets for good measure, the Arrow trousers work with everything from trainers to heels to take you from desk to dinner with ease.

Mel was drawn to the ‘Shine Shirt Swoop Print’ with its sheer georgette fabric and beautiful hand-painted bird pattern. A classic shape for the brand, this oversized shirt has a hidden button placket for a sleek look, accented with stud detailing. Mel loves to wear it slightly unbuttoned with the sleeves cuffed and jeans for an effortlessly stylish casual look, or with the bottom tied up to make it a crop with a skirt for a fun party look.
