Polo In The City, Adelaide

Polo is a fast, challenging and intense game, considered to be one of the world’s quickest growing spectator sports. Also being one of the oldest sports in the world dating back to at least 2,000 years ago, it is no wonder polo has held such a prominence in society to this very day with its level of high skill and social standing.

We were invited by Land Rover to attend Polo In The City this year, heralding our warm, sunny afternoon relaxing and socialising in the Land Rover VIP marquee last Friday.

Polo In The City is the flagship series belonging to Polo Enterprises Australia, touring nationally throughout Australia in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide. In fact, it is Australia’s only polo series and one of the largest in the world.

Having attended plenty of other spectator sports in our time, attending the polo was a first for us and we were more than impressed by Adelaide’s Polo In The City setup.

A selection of marquees were set up alongside one another either side of the playing field, each with their own flair and decorative style. Clip Joint offered a make-up and hair touch up station for the ladies on the day (genius!) while French brand Vicomte A were set up next door hosting an elite gentleman’s clothing stall for men.

At our Land Rover marquee, we were served first drinks at 4:00PM, enjoying glasses of Pol Roger and the traditional Italian beverage Aperol Spritz. We were filled to the brim with delicious canapes including gourmet and toasted sandwiches, proceeding to relax back into our chairs before Game 1 commencing at 5:00PM.

Aperol Spritz? Why, yes please.

There is no doubt enjoyed our day of fine wine and riveting sports, concluding polo as the perfect event for an intimate social gathering with friends, co-workers or business relatives. With the chance to meet the players and mingle with other polo professionals on the day, the event itself is inherently interactive and a definite networking opportunity. To find out more about Polo In The City, follow through to their website here.
