Premium Runway 6 // VAMFF

Frankie Magazine hosted yet another fabulous runway at Virgin Australia Fashion Festival this year, showing a range of alternative autumn/winter threads from the likes of Melbourne designers Kuwaii, búl, Limedrop, Obus, RYDER and I Love Mister Mittens.

The runway was held below the Melbourne Museum in a car park – a somewhat grunge fitout – with coloured poles lining the runway and bright downlights along the ceiling. Models graced a long runway wearing lots of thick, layered garments including woolen knits, warm beanies and heavy coats.

I Love Mister Mittens showcased a particularly warm and woolly collection of pieces – we adored model Samantha Harris in their maroon sweater-dress! The outfit was paired with a neutral coloured beanie and matching socks, as well as dressed up slightly with golden, metallic sneakers. It was the ultimate effortless winter daytime get up!

Many looks were accessorised with a massive, statement scarf – ones you could almost get lost in! Gigantic knitted scarves are a favourite winter accessory of ours and will probably be your cosiest (and smartest) investment this season; they can be chucked on with nearly every outfit.

Each look was complimented by a pair of funky flats, including low-platform lace boots in tan and black, coloured metallic sneakers and platform sandals.

Shoes, shoes and more shoes!

Frankie’s VAMFF runway was all about upmarket vintage styles and a sense of effortless chic flair, both of which are bound to be big this season. There is no doubt that over-sizing is all the rage and we can’t wait to get our hands on some massive, cuddly knits to keep us warm through the cold weather!
