Local designer Katya Komarova has delved into the world of race wear accessories just in time for the fast-approaching Adelaide Cup. The new collection features dreamy headpieces and statement clutches that are the perfect finishing touch to any race day outfit.
The collection is full of delicate snowflakes, giant bows and a whole lot of beautiful lace. The accessories range has an elegantly Russian feel to it with a hint of edginess provided by the sharpness of the leather.
Katya Komarova has always aimed to move into designing with sustainable materials and this is the labels first step in that direction.
“After experimenting with different textures and materials, I am coming back to the use of ecological vegetable tanned leather.” Says Katya.
“The beauty of this leather keeps inspiring me by its natural beauty, it way of shaping and ageing.”
The move to race wear accessories came after the designer placed third in Myer’s Fashion on the Field wearing a headpiece she had created herself.
