Republic // Action-packed July

The Republic Hotel is certainly not making Dry July any easier, as it prepares to celebrate National Tequila Day on July 24th. The Norwood bar and eatery will tempt its patrons from the 20th of July to 3rd of August with some absolutely stellar specials on drinks.

But it doesn’t end there, Republic will also be changing up the menu for the occasion. While the bar usually specialises in some of the best, damned modern pub food in the east, the bar will also be putting on a build-your-own taco station to pair nicely with your beverage.

Not into Mexican food? Then try a Banana Taco Sundae. Yes, I’m genuino (that’s Spanish for super serious); actual Banana Taco Sundaes.

A share platter will set you back $40 and is sure to keep you in high spirits as you celebrate National Tequila Day. This is a limited time offer, so make the most of it during the two weeks.

Not only will patrons have the chance to munch on some tasty tacos and channel their inner-Mexican, but the Republic will also become the home of sport during late July with the broadcasting of the Port Adelaide vs. the Adelaide Crows Showdown on the 19th from 2:50 pm, along with other local and international sporting events including the much-anticipated Adelaide United vs. Liverpool FC Match on Sunday the 20th.

Republic Venue Manager Stephen Lee says the Crows vs Port ‘…is a massive game for South Australian footy fans as both local teams go head-to-head for the 39th Showdown… the game will be televised live with audio.’

‘We are excited to offer patrons a venue that will keep them toasty throughout the winter months, whilst still being able to enjoy their favourite sporting event on our big screens,’ says Stephen.

Enjoy the matches that will be broadcasted live in the warmth of the Norwood pub’s award-winning beer garden while it plans to give away the opportunity to win a signed Liverpool jersey by simply purchasing a bottle of newly produced Lemon Ed – the Official Match Day Sponsor of the Liverpool FC Tour.

Following that, the Republic will also be hosting a Lemon Ed after-party which will be open to the public who can also find themselves snacking on some after-match drinks and nibbles.

“It’s not often Adelaide plays host to an international sporting event like this, so why not make a night of it and enjoy the buzz with friends at Republic,” says Stephen.

Phew, is that it yet? Republic sure are in for a full-on month and sport fans (and taco fans too, of course) are welcome to come along at this sure-to-be bustling pub. Oh, and one more thing! Guests who wish to host an event in one of Republic’s rustic function spaces during July-August will receive a 20 percent discount as well as a $100 gift voucher to get their night started.

So if you were still planning on conquering Dry July, you might want to think about trying Dry August instead…
