RMIT an explosion of creativity at MSFW

The emerging design students from RMIT truly blew our socks off with their intense creativity and variety of talent they’re bringing forth.

The colour palette was full of muted, mostly neutral shades, hailing to the fashion of recent times. There were clear trends in the structuring, loads of Victorian and some Eastern influences coming through. Loads of different techniques were used however, with hand-embroidering and weaving just two of the many.

One of our favourite designers was André Vidal, who brought forth an amazing dress creation made entirely of a shiny gold fabric, with off-shoulder detailing, dramatic sleeves and a big train. Truly a dress to reflect the haters in.

Another of our favourites was Stephanie Henly, who also took out the Emerging Student Designer Award. Her designs were regal but modern, and utilised sheer fabrics to create billowing, dramatic silhouettes.
