The Fringe Festival is known for embracing the strange, sexy and enthralling.
Shake It is an embodiment of all three, providing its guests with a night of risqué entertainment in the form of burlesque, cabaret and circus acts within The Adelaide Fringe.
The hour is made up of a handful of performers that change each show, providing not only great variation, but also points you in the right direction of other shows that are on throughout the festival.
Our lovable host and songstress, Minnie Andrews of Papillon fame, is well spoken, crass and hilarious. Not only is she an excellent MC with a sweetly innocent voice, she also belts out numerous musical numbers throughout the night.
Don’t be shy; this show is not for any prudes out there. There is nudity and innuendo, but the beauty of burlesque brings it across with style and class. Just be warned, Minnie is often fine with having those rules broken in the best way possible. The aesthetic inside the Spiegelzelt also fit the night perfectly.
While the run of Shake It has ended, be sure to look out for it in the coming seasons or take a gamble on other variety shows. They can super handy for finding gems in a festival spoilt for choice.
