USA-favourite Slim Chickens has just launched in London, and we’re already addicted. The Arkansas-born chicken chain prides themselves on cooking their chicken fresh to order, and creating a vast variety of sauces in-house.
The breaded chicken tenders topped our list, being boneless and the perfect size for dipping into some of their signature ‘Slim Sauce’.
Wings were another popular choice, and can be customised to exactly your style. Buffalo, hot and BBQ are just some of the flavour choices, however we’d highly recommend mixing and matching flavours with different sauces.
Giant bowls of crispy chips had us absolutely stuffed to the brim. Chicken sandwiches are also on the menu, and we have plans to head back soon to get one of those juicy buns into us.
When it came to the sauces, we ended up with about six different assortments open on the table in front of us. Though it was a tough call, Kristen’s favourite sauce was honey mustard, while Mel was addicted to the garlic parmesan.
In true Southern style, Slim Chickens threw an incredibly fun party to launch their first UK store, just off Oxford St. Classic cocktails like hurricanes and julips were flowing all night, as well as a range of beer and wine that can be added to your meal anytime. A cheery man led the party in a riotous game of bingo, where one lucky guest walked away with a lifetime supply of delicious Slim Chicken goodness. We definitely hogged the photo booth for a good portion of the night, resulting in the Instagram post below.
The flavours were rich and comforting, the chicken was tender and juicy and the sauces were way too much fun to play around with. We can’t wait to head back again soon and get our Slim Chickens fix.
