Stuffed full of turkey at Clutch’s Thanksgiving feast

It’s been a big year of firsts for us, and next to be crossed off our list was a delicious Thanksgiving feast at Clutch Chicken.

Hidden away down an inconspicuous side street in East London is where you’ll find Clutch, and its secretive location (combined with the fantastic food of course) is apparently what makes it a fave of celebs and foodie connoisseurs alike.

The front bar has been recently renovated, making it a contemporary delight complete with an Insta-worthy neon sign that makes for a fab pic or two (as we did below). The cocktails on offer were a mixture of classic winter warmers, like the sweet and spicy eggnog, as well as some fun modern drinks like the Banoffee Old Fashioned, each using one of our fave whiskies Bulleit.

While we enjoyed a cocktail or two in the warmth of the front bar, fun canapes like little, fried turkey balls were passed around, preparing our stomachs for the evening of feasting ahead.

Heading into the dining room we were greeted by a traditional, hearty Thanksgiving spread. More turkey and roast vegetables than you could fit in one pic were weighing down the table, as well as some of the best gravy we’ve ever had.

The star serving of the evening though were giant fried turkey legs, literally looking and tasting like XXL KFC drumsticks. Though we could barely fit another bite in we managed to polish off one of these heavenly legs between the two of us, and we’ll forever remember how tender and juicy the meat was, contrasting with the crunchy and moreish batter and skin.

To finish off the evening we had our first-ever pumpkin pie experience, topped with a generous dollop of spiced cream.

You can pop past Clutch Chicken every day but Monday to enjoy some of their crazy fried chicken dishes and decadent cocktails, or tune into their socials to stay up-to-date with fun events like their Thanksgiving dinner.
