Vibing on Sea & Vines 2017

The Queen’s Birthday long weekend is fast approaching, getting everyone keen for the annual McLaren Vale wine festival Sea & Vines.

World-class food and wine events are held from Saturday until Monday, however Sunday plays host to arguably the loosest vino celebration in Australia.

City venues each year plan their multi-stop wine tours, complete with boozy breakfast and mass afterparties aplenty. There really is nothing like pretending to be classy and sophisticated in one of the most gorgeous wine regions in the world, while knocking back a cutla chardy’s and drawing on your sleeping best mate’s face on the bus back.

As Sea & Vines is one of the most popular wine festivals, some of the tours are already sold out. If you’re a last-minute kinda guy and want to jump on board the wine bus at the last minute, we’ve picked our top three tours that still have tickets available for purchase.

The Curious Squire

This is the first year the North Adelaide pub is hosting its own bus tour, and it’s hitting all the hotspots. Prepare your body for the day’s activities by joining in on a light breakfast at the Squire in the morning, before heading off to Maxwell Wines, Coriole Vineyards and Leconfield Wines. Head back on the bus to The Curious Squire for an afterparty featuring live music all night long.

This one’s for the hospo workers, or those who don’t like to get up before 7am on a Sunday. Start with a drink and egg and bacon roll at either the Published Arthouse, Publishers Front Bar, or The Franklin Street Hotel before boarding the bus at the Flinders Street Bus Depot at 10:30am. First stop is Leconfield, and second stop is the crowd-favourite Coriole. After the party is the afterparty, with details yet to be released.
