Wallaroo to become prime holiday destination

Are you an Adelaidian looking for a relaxing getaway that’s still relatively close and easily accessible from home? We can guarantee Wallaroo Shores will be the hottest, new nearby holiday destination within a year’s time.

Why, you ask? Award-winning South Australian-based Monopoly Property Group (MPG) are due to transform the Yorke Peninsula beachside town into a premium tourist destination via the means of an enormous $40 million hospitality complex project.

This will see the sales release of 100 boutique townhouses with phenomenal ocean views and modern designs taking place this month; House and land packages can be accessed here. Picture pristine white walls against the calming blues of a picturesque seaview, with minimalist interior styling and the use of a clean, mainly monochromatic and subdued colour palette. Sounds beautiful, right?

And to promote these exciting new changes, the group are hosting an Instagram competition in which anyone with a camera in hand can get involved. The prize will see the winning entry receive a luxurious hospitality package valued at over $500!

Last weekend’s blogger’s boat sail.

We had our first taste of Wallaroo Shores last weekend with a blogger’s boat sail and luxury long lunch by the beach hosted by PR group The Press Gallery. Being the first to participate in the competition and fight for a chance to win the grand prize, we couldn’t wait to get snapping away.

Our boat sail consisted of sparkling bottles a-plenty and delightful Wallaroo Blue Swimmer Crab with crab mustard and micro-herbs served on sesame crackers. There’s nothing quite like fresh seafood straight from the seas you’re sailing on, and Wallaroo offers some of the freshest, most delicious seafood we’ve tasted in a while! We never wanted the sail to end.

As we hopped off the boat, we headed over to the most divine, scenic long lunch set up on the Wallaroo beachside. The long, white-clothed table was set up in a fine-dining manner with our names on a seashell and a customised cookie made by Alyce in Cookieland placed on our plates, awaiting our arrival. Driftwood characterised the centrepiece to a beach theme, accompanied by shells, coral and colourful flowers.

As we were seated, we were immediately offered a glass of wine and given our first seated course, the Spencer Gulf Ceviche Kingfish. This dish was complimented with mango, avocado, spring onion, cucumber radish and olive oil, and was served artfully in a stemless wine glass. The combination of flavours were oh-so refreshing; we wished the glass was bottomless!

Moving on to our main course, the Chargrilled Copper Coast Lamb Backstrap, we were astounded by how fresh the chefs were able to make each and every dish. Lamb is normally quite a fatty meat, but the chefs down at the shore manage to make it as light as possible, serving the mouthwatering meat with a freekeh and parsley salad, dukkah, mixed tomatoes and a caper basil sauce.

Our degustation ended with a Flourless Chocolate Cake, again served as light as possible with delectable pecan brittle, hazelnut crumble, blueberry gel, cocoa nibs and fresh berries. A dessert to melt in the mouth, Wallaroo Shores had just won our hearts.
