Westfield // Home, Food & Wine Weekend

Last Thursday, foodies were able to have a taste of what guests would expect at Westfield’s Home, Food and Wine Weekend that would take place on the 18th to the 19th of July.

Marion, Tea Tree Plaza and West Lakes Westfields played host to a variety of tantalising activities on the Sunday and Saturday including wine tasting, food sampling, Kmart home styling, Myer home showrooms, Masterchef Q&A’s with Jesse Spibly, face-painting to keep the kids entertained and a home styling reno Q&A with Sonia Styling spread over the two days.

Atmosphere Events set the mood with warm and cosy Westfield homewares and dim lighting to create a relaxing evening vibe after a long Thursday.

The menu and food styling was delivered perfectly by Adelaide chef Bre May while the 2009 Barossa Shiraz Grenache Mataro, White Label Semillon and 2012 Black Label Shiraz made an appearance.

Kicking off with an enormous platter, guests were spoilt with a Seasonal Share Plate incorporating Duck and Cider Pâté, Apple and Cider Paste, Cider Mustard Plums, Adelaide Hills Brie, Dutch Aged Gouda, ‘Shadows of Blue’ Blue Cheese with with Pangkarra Grissini and Lavosh.

The former My Kitchen Rules star had guests drooling over her version of a pie floater; the Cheddar and Parsnip Soup with ‘Murray Street’ Shiraz Beef Cheek, Caramelised Onion and Fontina Pie.

Lastly, guests had the great opportunity of trying the Bracegirdle’s Salted Caramel and Dark Chocolate Tart with Persimmon. For us, it was the perfect combination, the tart being deliciously creamy and sweet while the permission provided a slight crunch and plainness.

We hope this action-packed weekend continues next year!
