A Table In The Country

In the last ten years, there has been a huge increase in the movement for organic, locally produced goods and farming. No longer are we satisfied with food that is masked by chemicals, preserved in freezers or shipped in from places far away. We want to know that what we are consuming is real and fresh. Enter, Pangkarra Farm.

The farm, nestled amongst the lush fields of the Clare Valley, has been in the Maitland family for five generations.  Having always been a top producer of quality cereals and legumes, the family owned and operated business now crafts premium fine foods such as wholegrain pasta, lavosh and grissini. With a focus on sustainability, you can be sure that anything under the Pangkarra name will be authentic.

What a view!

In December, the Maitland family are opening the doors of their homestead to present ‘A Table In The Country’; a five course degustation lunch showcasing a specially selected range of seasonal South Australian produce, accompanied by matching wines and craft beer.

Prior to indulging in a long, slow lunch, there will be a tour of the farm and crops, as well as a vineyard.   Pangkarra pride themselves on using organic fertilisers in their farming, as well as traditional stone milling techniques for the processing of the wheat – ensuring the quality of the grain is preserved. What you will see is what you will taste, and Pangkarra want to show you the best that South Australia can offer through this exclusive, hands on experience.
