What to do in Adelaide for New Year’s Eve

Feeling at a loss and wondering what to do for New Year’s? Well, you shouldn’t be! Adelaide is flooding with parties, gatherings and celebrations to welcome in the new year, and we’ve piled together a few of the events we’re most excited for.

2KW Bar and Restaurant

Set on the perfect rooftop to watch the fireworks, 2KW Bar and Restaurant are hosting a big night to remember. Grab a glass of Pol Roger or Ruinart on arrival and walk into DJs Maison and Kai Ward starting off the night at 6:30pm. Mallee Grill are supplying local meats and seafood, with many cheese stations, canapés and dessert bars to boot. Tickets are $150 and selling fast.

Not only this, but 2KW are also throwing a New Year’s Day party with a line-up of Adelaide’s finest DJs. Start the year off with a complimentary glass of Aperol Spritz and keep the party going. Presale tickets are $45 for the lucky first 150 people.

 

Stamford Grand, Glenelg

The 4.5-star hotel is offering a range of parties to end the year with a bang. Black-tie event, the Masquerade Ball, is doing a four-course dinner with a five-hour premium drink package, presenting live entertainment for the whole night. Tickets are $159.

The Prohibition Party is the perfect place to get your glitz on, located at the Horizons Cocktail Lounge. You’ll be taken back to the roaring twenties with flapper dresses and dapper suits, with a 4.5-hour drink package and two hours of canapes. $120 per person.

Lastly, there will also be a Glow Party in the Grand Bar. It’s BYO glow sticks and white shirts, but the hotel has got you covered for UV face paint and tunes by DJ Kirk. Plus, receive a complimentary cocktail on arrival! Tickets are $25.

 

The Stag

Back at the East End, The Stag is hosting a decade party for the night, with the house band downstairs and DJ APEX up the top, playing your fave party anthems from the 80s until now. Drink specials start at 9pm and finish at midnight, tickets are $40.

 

Other

Of course we have our token free family-friendly events down at Glenelg and Brighton Foreshore, Semaphore Beach, and Elder Park. Perfect for a hot summer’s night to bring in the new year. All have fireworks start from 9:30pm.

And if you’re not up for a big night? How about something different: a mindful nature walk ‘forest bath’. Participate in a selection of mindfulness and sensory activities on a gentle walk through the forest from 6:30-9:30pm. Let go of all the stress and anxieties the year has given you and walk into the new year with a clear and uncluttered mind. Tickets start from $25.
