An Era of Disposable Love // ONS Boutique & Stephanie Chehade

Oh what a night… could one night stands be the new relationship?

Well after One Night Stand Boutique & Stephanie Chehade’s fashion event, it’s safe to say they most definitely are. Last Friday, we got a taste of what real love for fashion in a one night stand really looks like.

The event was held at Praxis Artspace: a new and divinely spacious venue located in the heart of the Bowden Precinct. The venue, creatively decorated by Adelaide-based Modern Party Hire, offered a raw industrial feel, giving the event a bit of edge. Giant letters stood central, reading ONSxSC and covered in a gorgeous floral design with comfortable white chivari chairs positioned either side of the runway. An Instabooth was also hired by Modern Party, giving guests the chance to print the Instagram photos they took at the event.

As we all walked through, being greeted by glasses of bubbles, the space filled up and so did our stomachs with plenty of catered refreshments including the likes of savory goodies such as marinated meatballs, mini party sandwiches, dips and sweet dessert canapes going down a treat.

After mingling and socialising with fellow fashion lovers, Channel 9’s Kate Collins (the emcee of the night) opened the event, reminding us all just how talented the ONS ladies are. Natalia Delele is the founder and owner of One Night Stand Boutique and offers an exclusive range of clothing to hire, not only for women in Adelaide but across the nation, too! ONS began in early 2012 and the business grew insanely quick for young Natalia, with the boutique currently renting 100 dresses over the country every weekend.

Soon, all eyes were on the models who glided gracefully down the runway, showcasing both ONS boutique’s hire clothing and Stephanie Chehade’s very own exclusive Resort and High Summer 15/16 range.

Emerging fashion designer, Stephanie Chehade, is known for her hand-crafted garments made for the fashion-forward woman. 2014 marked the establishment of Stephanie Chehade the Label, when her first range ‘The Black Skirt’ came to life.

Creative Director Stephanie Chehade explains her white on white collection as, “The ultimate in blissful luxury wear, combining the best of the finest fabrics from leather to lace; the 2015 high summer range is the epitome of elegance, class and individuality.”

Continuing on, Stephanie tells us how exciting it is to collaborate with ONS at an event so undeniably successful.

“I am proud to be an Adelaide-based designer. I love showcasing my collections locally and to be able to share my passions with my family and friends is something that is truly humbling. I was very excited to work with ONS for this particular event and not only showcase my own collection but also show what we have collaborated on together. Natalia is very supportive of my work so when she suggested we collaborate on a few pieces, there was no hesitation.”

I was constantly faced with the fashion-forward female who wanted to wear a high-end designer outfit but either couldn’t afford it or couldn’t justify spending the money on something they would only wear once.

Natalia Delele explains the idea behind ONS, saying;

“I was constantly faced with the fashion-forward female who wanted to wear a high-end designer outfit but either couldn’t afford it or couldn’t justify spending the money on something they would only wear once. The rise of captures on social media has meant that girls are less likely to wear the same thing twice.”

Natalia goes on to highlight how liberating it feels to structure an event so successful.

“We wanted to put on a fun event that wasn’t only about the fashion runway but having a good time, having a few drinks and an excuse to dress up. Given the amazing response to our collaboration with Stephanie Chehade, we thought there was no better excuse to have a party where we can celebrate our collaboration as well as Stephanie’s first SS collection.”

Indeed, the collaboration was no doubt a huge success, with Stephanie Chehade aspiring to continue moving forward and being innovative and fresh with her label. With both Stephanie and Natalia holding a responsibility to dress hundreds of girls across the county in stunning outfits every weekend, there’s absolutely no stopping these power women.

Although the night started off as with the intention of a one night stand, boy, did we leave falling in love.
