An evening in Glenmorangie’s Delicious and Wonderful World

Glenmorangie's Delicious & Wonderful World

As the elevator doors to Sydney Tower’s sky-high Bar 83 opened, music, smoke and moody lighting wafted in. This sensory extravaganza was shortly followed by electronic duo Client Liaison quite literally jumping into action, enthusiastically greeting each and every guest as they wandered out of the Sydney night and into Glenmorangie’s Delicious and Wonderful World.

This one-night-only event was a truly immersive experience, with elements designed to tempt and tease every sense. Glenmorangie cocktails designed by acclaimed mixologist Kurtis Bosely popped, oozed and shattered, paired with delicate desserts by KOI’s Reynold Poernomo. Smoke billowed through the air, adding dimension to the red, orange and blue lighting experience designed by Client Liaison to pair perfectly with their DJ set.

Our favourite cocktail of the evening was the Wide Eyed Wonder, perfectly balanced with Glenmorangie X, honeyed Groseille, raspberry rooibos, tonka amontillado and soda. Served in a tall glass, it offered just a hint of sweetness while being wildly refreshing. Special mention goes to the Single Malt & Strike, a punchy drink with Glenmorangie Original served over a hollow ball of ice we got to smash with a tiny mallet.

There truly wasn’t a dull moment in Glenmorangie’s Delicious and Wonderful World, with games and activities for us to try our hand at while we sipped and nibbled. An ethereal mirror installation inspired by the distillery’s contemporary design captivated our attention – a magical area to wander around in, cocktail in one hand and phone in the other.

During the event, we were also lucky enough to hear Dr Bill Lumsden speak, Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation. As we’re both big whisky fans and have visited a few distilleries in Scotland ourselves (unfortunately not Glenmorangie yet), it was amazing to hear someone speak who’s so passionate about the craft of whisky.

After indulging in a gluttonous amount of cocktails and cakes, we danced the night away to Client Liaison’s signature brand of funky electronic music. With the duo joining us on the dance floor at times and singing live on some of their favourite tracks, it was truly a memorable evening with Glenmorangie floating above the Sydney skyline.
