Last Sunday I found out what it was like to experience beauty heaven. Superdrug hosted their first-ever Superdrug Presents in Shoreditch, and it was hands down one of the best events we’ve ever been to.
Walking through a tunnel laded with leafy branches and pink neon lighting, you entered a huge warehouse that had been transformed into a vibrant and lively beauty hub. Brands and activations were organised into stands all over the room, and a DJ was playing bops like Lizzo’s ‘Truth Hurts’ to really amp the mood.
I immediately made a beeline for the piercing station, where Superdrug was doing FREE ear piercings. Two quick clicks later and I had my third lobe studs in, and the whole process was way less painful and dramatic than I remember it being as a kid. Whether that’s Superdrug being pros at what they do or my pain tolerance having increased, we’ll never know.
Next up was nails, courtesy of Orly, and fluttery false lashes from Kiss. Feeling fresh for 11am on a Sunday I was ready to head off to brunch soon, but not before visiting all the brand stands.
I seriously regretted coming with a full face of makeup, because every cosmetic brand at Superdrug Presents was offering makeup application to show off their product range. Whether you were after something more matt or a whole lot of sparkle, there was a brand to suit everyone. We even got a sneak peek at J-Lo’s new perfume pre-release, which I can confirm smells just as amazing as all her previous ones.
There was also a range of masterclasses available for everyone to book into. From learning skincare tips and tricks to chic hairstyles to makeup hacks, it was the perfect opportunity to brush up on your skills.
Tickets were priced at £30 and sold out (unsurprisingly considering how much value was included in the ticket) and Superdrug is planning on hosting another one in the future. Keep your eyes on their website and social channels for updates!
