Celebrate McLaren Vale at Harvest Festival

It seems the only events on our calendar this January are wine related, and we’re not complaining. Following on from Here’s To Now at Coriole yesterday comes Harvest Festival in McLaren Vale next Saturday, 14th of January.

Wine and cheese are two of our favourite things, so the ‘Wine and Cheese Matching Class’ is where you’ll find us this Harvest Festival. Another standout activity for us is the ‘Beer Sensory Class’, where Goodieson Beers will take you on an in-depth tasting journey of their beers, explaining what makes a good beer and what makes a really bad one.

In between tasting some of McLaren Vale’s world-class wines and beers, watch local celebrities engage in some real South Aussie competitions, like the ‘Celebrity Wine Spitting Challenge’ in which Minister of Tourism Leon Bignell has held the title of champion for the last three years. If spitting isn’t really your thing, head over to the ‘Celebrity Bottling’ challenge and watch regional identities team up with local winemakers to see who can fill and cork 24 bottles of wine the fastest.

As well as wine and beer related activities, loads of food, art and music events are planned for the annual festival. Try a cooking masterclass with a local chef like Masterchef runner-up Laura Cassai, wander amongst the stalls at That Dapper Market or listen to the funky acoustic sounds of Jonny BoBo.

The festival runs from 10:30am until 7:00pm next weekend, and entry is a gold coin donation. See you at the Wine and Cheese Tasting!
