Dipping into the Tarte SEA makeup range

Tarte SEA Surfer Curl Volumising Mascara

When we saw we LOVE Tarte, we’re not overexaggerating. We’ve been using and loving their products since 2016, and their eyeshadow palettes and liquid-to-matte lipsticks remain some of our go-to’s to this today (Tartlette In Bloom palette, we’re looking at you). When we were given the opportunity to try out a bunch of new products from the Sea range and attend a virtual event with Tarte founder and CEO Maureen Kelly, we nearly passed away from happiness. It’s safe to say this has been the highlight of our 2021 lockdown so far, and here’s why.

The virtual Tarte event was a super fun break from our normal lockdown routine where we got to virtually meet a whole lot of inspiring women, from Maureen (exciting) to some of the US Tarte team to fellow Aussie Tartelette influencers. We also got to play around with some of the products and learn about what makes the SEA range different to other cosmetic products on the market.

Tarte SEA Foundation Brush

It was love at first sight between us and the Tarte SEA Hydroflex Serum Foundation. Heavy-duty matte foundations are not where it’s at for us anymore, and we’ve been on the search for the perfect dewy foundation that still offers good coverage for a while. The foundation formula is super silky and wet, but dries down to a velvety-style finish that you only really need to add powder over on your T-zone (if you get a bit oily there). As the name suggests, the Hydroflex foundation is like a makeup-serum hybrid, packing six skin-loving ingredients in there, including hyaluronic acid and vegan collagen. A little really goes a long way too, just a small squirt on each cheek will give you a medium coverage all over your face.

Tarte SEA Breezy Eyes Palette

The appreciation we have for a Tarte eyeshadow palette knows no bounds, and we’re already obsessed with the new Tarte SEA Breezy Eyes. Coming with nine neutral shades, there’s a healthy mix of peachy and brown shades in both matte and shimmer finishes, giving you a perfect palette to do a natural smokey eye or a fresh nude look. It’s also a smaller size to Tarte’s other palettes we own, making it perfect for packing in our gym back for when we have to run off to work after.

Tarte SEA Breezy Eyes Palette

You know we’re lovers of a sharp liquid liner wing, but the Surfer Curl Waterproof Gel Liner has us playing around with a softer, smudged liner. It’s great for wearing when we’ve got a more natural eye look on, and comes with a little sharpener in the top so you can always get a smooth line. We like to smudge it out with the warm brown Deep Coffee shade from the Breezy Eyes palette on a pencil brush, or just smudge it with our fingers if we’re going for a super casual look. Finished off with a swipe of the Surfer Curl Volumising Mascara and you’re good to go!

If you’re keen to test out any of the Tarte SEA products, they’re stocked at Sephora Australia so you can head in-store and have a play. Otherwise, they’re available online at Sephora and at Tarte’s website.
