Distillery Days music festival to take over Twenty Third Street Distillery

October long weekend is just around the corner, and if you’re like the vast majority who are only just realising how quickly this year has gone, you may not have any plans booked for it yet. For the perfect way to enjoy the warm spring weekend, look no further! The Distillery Days music festival is the only event you need to know about.

The bash will be thrown at Twenty Third Street Distillery in South Australia’s very own oasis in the desert, the sunny town of Renmark. Less than a three-hour drive from Adelaide, spend a day eating delicious food and sipping on quality spirits at the festival, and then end it watching a beautiful sunset at one of the hotels or campsites on the lusciously green riverfront.

Split over two very different days, the festival is following a ‘Legends and Latest’ theme. With performances from Aussie music legends on the Sunday and then newer hip-hop and DJ artists on the Monday, you can expect a different experience each day.

The Sunday legends will include Aussie household names such as Kate Ceberano and Daryl Braithwaite (you know, that ‘Horses’ song that every Aussie boy cant seem to resist after a few beers) and more. The Monday latest’s will include popular hip-hop group Thundamentals, and DJ acts such as Young Franco, Command Q, Tigerilla, and Nakatomi.

Twenty Third Street Distillery deserves its own special mention, as it is a recently finished project, which involved the refurbishment of a century old distillery dating back to the Riverland’s early colonial days. They’ve even revamped some century-old copper stills to produce a range of ‘prime spirits for the liberated palate’.

Group Marketing Manager of Bickford Group, Chris Illman says, “With our range we’re charting new flavour territories with old-school craftsmanship to bring you sensory pleasures, savoury and sweet, contradictory, yet united”.

“We’ve created Distillery Days to celebrate this contrast and harmony. True legends of the Australian Music scene join the young trailblazers over one long weekend”.

Since the refurbishment, which launched in 2016, the distillery has earned international titles, such as two Double Gold Medals at the 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. With the selection of Gin, Brandy, Whisky and even a Riverland Rose Vodka, it isn’t hard to understand the already gleaming reputation.

So if you haven’t planned your October long weekend yet, gather some friends for a day in the sunshine to enjoy what the Riverland has to offer – and don’t forget to find us and say hi!
