This year, Royal Croquet Club sits at at an all-new location on the secluded Pinky Flat park, complete with a stunning riverfront view of the Torrens and the CBD.
At the official VIP opening last night, we got the chance to admire RCC 2017 in all its sparkling beauty. We indulged in wines from Yalumba bar, we danced to house beats by live DJs, we were slightly disturbed by giant jumping kangaroo-men on stilts and we, of course, took part in a spot of croquet. There is certainly no shortage of fun activities to do at the newly located Royal Croquet Club!
One of our favourite parts of the night was the PizzaTeca stall which totally threw us off being a pizza outlet and a dancefloor all in one. Dancing to funky music under disco lights while waiting for our wood-oven Margherita to be cooked was probably better than dancing at an actual nightclub.
We also previewed the Australian premiere of Filament: a contemporary circus and physical theatre performance showing at Panama. Inspired by 80’s teen films, this Fringe show bears everything your typically cheesy coming-of-age film has to offer, all the while shocking the audience with incredible circus tricks and stunts. This show was full of serious talent – stay tuned to read our full review!
RCC 2017 is without a doubt a vibe and a half, there’s no stopping the boys from The Social Creative. With an extensive programme of quirky shows and a huge music line-up including the likes of Flight Facilities, Motez, The Aston Shuffle, Bag Raiders, Tkay Madza, KLP and so much more, Royal Croquet Club is truly the place to be this Fringe season.
