This week, Jack Greens officially opened its second eatery just off of Rundle Mall in James Place, serving up scrumptious salads and comforting cups of coffee to patrons looking for a healthy alternative.
Particularly known for its healthy breakfasts, Jack Greens offers a variety of nutritious goods consisting of local and ethically sourced produce. As one of Waymouth Street’s popular lunch break go-to’s, there’s no doubt Jack Greens in James Place will see equal success.
“I think a lot of offices are bored with sandwich platters for meetings,” Co-Founder James Marshall jokes, “They see that by ordering with us they get something different, healthy and are also supporting a whole chain of South Australian suppliers.”
At the launch, we ordered the Roasted Salmon salad, combining roasted salmon, baby, spinach, mesclun, basil salsa verde, cucumber, avocado, apple chips and honey seed clusters. Every part of this salad was a burst of flavour; there were no bland parts.
We also trialled the Sweet Peaches salad mixing roasted chicken, sliced peaches, chopped cos, shredded kale, roasted almonds, bocconcini cheese and candied ginger topped with honey, jalapeno and lime dressing. Light yet fulfilling, this was probably the ultimate summer salad.
If you don’t fancy any of the salad combinations on offer, there’s always the option of making your own! This gives you the chance to mix fresh, locally-sourced ingredients such as pulled turkey, marinated tofu, parmesan crisps, pineapple, goats cheese, feta, bacon, egg, avacado, dried cranberries, peanuts, candied walnuts and so much more… we couldn’t begin to list them all.
Jack Greens is located on 36 Waymouth Street and, now, Shop 1/32 James Place. Don’t forget, you can also order online to skip the queue here!
