Jaimie Sortino ‘The Woodland Lights’ Collection

Talented Adelaide couturier Jaimie Sortino previewed his new showcase, The Woodland Lights, to an amazed audience last Friday the 4th of September.

The event was held at the prestigious Freemasons Hall and featured ten fairytale pieces that were inspired by the landscape of the Adelaide Hills.

Each ethereal model floated down the grand staircase which was gently lit by tall white candles and decorated with real ivy and branches that Sortino had gathered himself.

The models were then guided onto individual white platforms by gentlemen in suits, where guests could then admire the breathtaking dresses in detail and take as many photos of the gorgeous designs and delicate detailing as needed.

The dresses were created in colours of dusty rose pinks and midnight blues with subtle hues of silver and ivory, creating a  whimsical and romantic air about the designs.

Each dress is completely unique and is intended to remind the admirer of the forest and the night sky, with embellishments on the darker dresses looking like stars in the evening, and the lighter dresses bringing out images of dusky sunsets and graceful trees.

Jaimie Sortino grew up in the Adelaide Hills, making this collection’s inspiration very important to the designer.

“Every collection is very personal to me, it has a story and a unique feel, and this collection in particular, has a very special inspiration.” Says Sortino.
