Light & Fast Menu Tasting // Torbreck Wines at Cos

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of attending Cos 18 Leigh‘s Light & Fast Menu tasting, accompanied by an informative wine tasting session from local winery, Torbreck Wines.

Michael Tayler, owner of Cos restaurant, believes Cos’ new Light & Fast menu is the perfect lunch for anyone looking to have a quick yet quality meal at an affordable price. Whether on a work break, on your way to work, or just in a rush, the express menu has a great selection of dishes to choose from, each option complimented with a fine wine from Torbreck Wines included in the $25 price.

The Local Squid main was a delectable, light yet filling seafood choice, complimented by cubed roast potatoes, caper and oregano in a flavoursome salad. The squid, cooked to perfection, is a refreshing lunch option for those looking for something light on the stomach and pairs perfectly with a white wine. Other seafood meals on the menu include Tamarind Mussels with a side of fries and mayo and Fried Fish with potatoes and pea salad.

The thinly-cut tender and sweet Duck Breast had mouths watering for more, coming served in a citrusy bed of orange, pickled walnut and witlof salad.

Some of the heavier Light & Fast options included Braised Beef Cheek with potato and broccolini, Orecchiette pasta in a butternut, chilli and rosemary sauce and Roast Pork Neck with the fantastic Thai nam jim dressing and fennel salad.

After lunch, we were invited by Torbreck Wines representatives, Stuart Barrie and Kate Kurtz, to try three of their most decadent reds, The FactorThe Struie and The Steading. Torbreck Vinters have been producing quality wines since the 1990’s and are a sure fire favourite in the Barossa region. After taste-testing just a few of the fantastic lunches on offer, as well as some of the entrees and cheeses/meats platters with the delight of a red or white Torbreck in hand, it’s safe to say we will certainly be returning soon to try more of what Cos has to offer.
