Milan Mode Launch

This Wednesday, up and coming online boutique Milan Mode held a glamorous launch event at The Ambassador’s Hotel, giving selected guests the chance to browse and try on their trendy stock.

Having launched the website just a couple of months ago, Milan Mode Founder Tahlea Barbaro has been working to create a boutique collection which is modern yet classic and with a hint of cool.

Racks upon racks of clothing!

“Milan Mode is more than just an online boutique,” says Tahlea, “it is an ongoing blog that addresses issues relevant to ‘the modern, fashion savvy woman.'”

“We understand our customers have high expectations in regards to their image. We aim to keep our customers on trend with a one stop shop for all wardrobe essentials.”

“We want high-class fashion to be accessible and enjoyed by all from the comfort of their own home.”

Milan Mode itself is inspired by the wise words of Yves Saint Laurent: “Fashions face, but style is eternal,” encouraging women to accept the beauty of difference and to love the parts that make them unique, executing self-confidence through their own style.

Champagne? Yes, please.

The Ambassador Hotel’s gorgeous second floor function room played host to the launch, offering a spacious area to hold racks upon racks of beautiful clothing and tables of accessories.

At the far end of the space, a bar built in-ground stood against large window panes which brought through the dim, evening light. Guests were given the choice of light sparkling rose or champagne from the bar.

Bakery On O’Connell provided the night’s sweet dessert refreshments, including delectable round, nutella-filled donuts, pink cream cup cakes and small donut balls with icing sugar and coloured sprinkles.

Sweetness overload.

After sifting through the garments, we chose a few outfits that took our fancy and made our way over to the fitting room where we tried on our new-found ensembles for a mini styling shoot.

My first pick was a classy grey cape jacket lined with baby blue silky material, perfect for those cool spring nights. I styled the cape jacket with the black and white striped ‘Make Or Break Maxi’, featuring subtle cutouts and an uneven hemline. The combo made for a great spring outfit, perhaps Melbourne Cup attire or for a dinner date.

The second outfit comprised of a two-piece suede set in tan colour, featuring a delicate crop and pencil midi skirt for Milan Mode’s Boho Shieke collection. I layered using the flamboyant ‘Clueless Faux Fur Jacket’ in off-white. The off-white and tan was a perfect colour combination, and the ‘Turn Heads Suede Set’ was quite a popular choice among guests on the night. The suede set was comfortable and made using a light, thin fabric, making it the perfect out-in-town choice for a warm summer’s night.

There were certainly some essential staple pieces in the Milan Mode collection, as well as funky sets, quirky patterns, spring jackets and stand out accessories such as the ‘Leather Fringe Top’ and ‘Love me Love you Bralet’.

There is no doubt that Milan Mode has you covered this spring/summer, so make sure you check out their online stock and grab something unique to jazz up your wardrobe at http://www.milanmode.com.au/.
